Leave Your Users with Fresh Content for the Weekend with Almost No Effort.
When I find a blog I enjoy, I visit daily … it becomes part of my routine … Gizmodo, Engadget, tuaw, etc … and Saturday and Sunday are nothing different to my routine, I expect to be greeted with fresh content on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Now the sites I mentioned are large sites these days, they have budgets large enough to keep it going on the weekends with out a problem.
We however DO NOT have large budgets. So how can we easily handle this situation with little work?
Having built a whole lot of websites in my life, I can speak from experience of making this simple mistake myself, assuming that all my website visitors have been around since day 1.

to the right you will see about 6 months worth of analytics from a website I was operating, as you can tell a large portion of the visitors do not visit every single day.
so heres the trick that you can work on just about any blog or cms software. I came up with this idea in 2005 while working on a blog with a partner.
You must already have content, the more content the better. Go to the back of your content list, to your oldest piece of content and schedule it to post the coming Saturday, then get the next piece and schedule it to post Sunday. Now your weekend is free and to at least the majority of your users the posted stories will apear to be new content.
Obviously reposting a piece of content that is relavent to a specific date in time will not work and it takes a little bit of time, but to your users it will apear as your putten in work 7 days a week.
It will generate more page views guaranteed!
WordPress makes this process quick and simple with QuickEdits in your post listing, just post date the post to the desired date.
